Elroy’s chocolate cake is too rich for me. Three more bites and it is enough. I continue to look for the perfect cake. My sense of taste is changing as I age.
My charming daughter sits back on the couch getting comfortable while we talk. Can’t remember what we talk about but the feeling was good. The baker woman brings me fresh bread. The afternoon sun is warming the living room. Kindness everywhere.
I do not notice the piles of stuff on the edges of the rooms. When I do see the stuff, I want to fix it immediately but I can’t seem do it. Although I am getting stronger my resilience is lagging. I resume CBG immunotherapy treatment in June.
I start reading a new medical book, CODE GRAY, Death, Life, and Uncertainty in the ER, by Farzon A. Nahvi, M.D. These are the books that excite me today. Reading is the way I travel to new worlds.
