My family on the east coast are in the middle of an icy winter but here in California spring has arrived.  Trees are coming alive. Allergies are starting up as the trees blossom and toss out their pollen.

Took the last cipro pill this morning. Now I wait to see if the hospital acquired infection is gone. I cuss and swear at the pill bottles, they are so hard to open. I had to ask my son to drive over to my house to open the current one. I don’t know if CVS has easy to open pill bottles for old people like me.

I am quite taken by Dr. Henry Marsh’s writings about his life as a surgeon.  I wonder if he would be a good friend but he seems to be a competent and honest doctor. Watching NEW AMSTERDAM I have learned how to be a good doctor.  I am still waiting to learn how to be a real patient.

A fat red robin sat in the middle of the water bowl outside.  Sat there, slowly looking around and fluffing up his feathers. The small birds stayed back until the large bird got up and flew away.
