A night of wind, rain and cold. Snuggled in my bed I listen until I fell asleep. My East Coast Daughter left for her flight at 5am. The house is quiet except for the sounds of the blowing heater. Today is the task to adjust to being solitary in my home.
My two daughters and I watch my favorite movie in the late dark afternoon. I DON’T FEEL AT HOME IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE. I have seen it several times, but they hadn’t. I can’t explain why I like it so much. We have a fire in the fireplace and snack on leftover food.
I have started reading HOW THE WORLD REALLY WORKS by Vaclav Smil. Certainly my current question. Slow reading but good.
This morning while I eat breakfast a small dark bird sits in the rain on a bottle bush limb. I can see him from my recliner in my bedroom. I hear some bird chatter in the distance.
