Struggling with fatigue now. I lay on the couch with my eyes closed, several times a day. This will pass and it is just a side effect of the immunotherapy. I am slowly aware of the difference between being sleepy and fatigue.
I talk to a human in Africa this morning as I cancel a subscription service of monthly vitamins. Their website is too confusing. Finally find a phone number and call. The young man is charming and efficient and the deed is done. A couple of minutes later I receive the email canceling the service. 6,000 miles away and we are talking and smiling on the phone.
A sudden desire to buy something arises as I look at a Target. Ads. I don’t care what to buy, just something. I haven’t been in a store for years. I scan the ads for stuffed animals, kitchen supplies, outdoor furniture, looking for anything to buy. Finally, I start playing online solitaire and the desire to shop retreats.
Thursday is warm enough. I open the doors and windows to chase out the winter cold and let in spring air. I have one more book by Henry Marsh to read. I am close to understanding how surgeons are trained and work. I have had four surgeries in the last 18 months.
