The flock of tiny birds and a few small birds descend into the bottle bush trees and are busy for about ten minutes before moving on.  Yea, they are back.

I am in the middle of the LAUGHING POLICEMAN, with detective Martin Beck in Sweden in the 1960’s. Those times without cellphone, google, DNA are so familiar and comforting to me.  This is book number 4, 6 more books to go before I return to the confusions of 2020.

I am recommending GOLDEN GATES, by Colin Dougherty to anyone who wants to understand why California does not have sufficient housing. It is a relief to understand the complications of housing development as compared to the ease of producing more children who need housing.

My heart is filled with sadness today.  I recognize that life is difficult and may not get better.
