Everything changes. I used to hate zoom and now I am looking
forward to seeing my scattered family this morning. I’ve learned to sit with a
window in front of me so my face is in the light. I want to see their faces.
I am doing nothing, I say to my friends, nothing. I want to be doing something other then
dishes, laundry, watering the plants. My secret activity is reading, not so
secret, just pretend secret.
Our afternoon winds twist and toss the pine trees. Up the street a tree fell in my son’s yard
smashing a parked car.
I continue to read slowly THE GREAT INDOORS, the surprising
science of how buildings shape our behavior, health and happiness, by Emily
Anthes.
