Last night before I fell asleep, I decided to spend the next
day doing my taxes. This morning, what
was I thinking? Sun is out and I am restless
to go someplace, any place.
I quickly pinch off the frost damaged geranium leaves from
the potted plants on the deck. Once
these brown shriveled leaves are gone the plants look healthy and
thriving. I whisper to them spring is
coming.
Queen radio on Pandora accompanies me as I do my morning
exercises. I am getting ready to see the
movie about Queen. I am slow this
morning as I remember my routine moves.
The old dead oak tree in the side yard now has a few lime
green leaves emerging from its trunk. I
knock on the tree, dead or alive?
This morning I picked up the book WOMEN ROWING NORTH,
navigating life’s currents and flourishing as we age, by Mary Piper. A calm hopeful book for the early morning.
