The quince tree in the back yard is beginning to green out.  The almost pine tree has hundreds of baby pine cones.  The plum tree looks dead and the oak tree in the side yard is dead.  The ground is covered with vibrant green fur.

I have been leaving out samples of food on a plate on my kitchen table this last week for the rat.  After a couple of days, the m&m’s, cheese, and chocolate were eaten.  Rat did not eat the peanut butter.  Last night l left m&m’s on the plat and cheese in the trap.  This morning the rat was dead in the trap. The m&m’s were gone. When it gets light I will remove the rat.  Yuck.  Now the question is there more rodents?

I am reading Pam Houston’s new book DEEP CREEK, FINDING HOPE IN THE HIGH COUNTRY. It is colder on her ranch then here in my house.
