Saturday afternoon I sit in my car at San Carlos Beach. Sunlight and shadows moving across the
land. Rain clouds, rainbows. When the
rain starts the gulls land on the lawn and paced. Crows pace in their area until the rain stops. The birds then take to the air. A friend comes by and we sit in the car
talking.
My neighbor walks alone with a raincoat and umbrella, up and
down the street. He is persistent in his 30 minutes of daily walking.
I finish reading the BIGAMIST’S DAUGHTER. I look through my pile of books to see which
one leaps out at me. Surely there is a
special book just waiting for me. Or I could start doing my tax returns.
