Sat in the crowded conference room at the Community Foundation.   Listened to various people talk about their plans for creating shelters.  The wind was blowing, the room heated up.  So many words, my body said, no more room for further plans.

I bought another string of colored lights for my dark house.  This time the lights are in the shape of the stars and moon.  The secret to finding these charming lights is in the children’s section.

I am taking the day off, I tell myself and yet I did go to the Cherry Center for meditation this morning only to see that the electricity was off and the alarm bell was ringing.  Rain and wind.

Went for coffee with friends at Juice and Java in Pacific Grove where there are few trees to take down the wires. I was determined to do nothing, and nap and read.  I was unsuccessful. Paid bills, went to the library, did dishes, checked the back yard for damage and then took a short nap. A large branch from a neighbor’s yard has fallen on the fence.  Puddles of water in the parking area.
