This morning I am returning Michelle Obama’s book to my friend.  Several friends asked to borrow the book and I had to say it is not mine.  I suggested they go on Nextdoor page and see if anyone wants to lend the book.  Over 2 million books have been sold and some of them must be in our neighborhood.  The Monterey library reserve list is very long.

Now I want to read a memoir by Michelle’s mother, the half hidden Marian Robinson the grandmother who allowed Michelle the freedom to live a creative life. I identify with her as a role model.
