I found a book of essays by Maeve Higgins, MAEVE IN AMERICA, essays by a girl from somewhere else.  She moved to New York from Ireland.  Finally, sane interesting writing and no one is killed.  And tortured.  Still I am drawn to mystery stories because there is some justice and resolution in the end.   Endings don’t seem to exist in life today.
