I am slowly adapting to watching football on the TV. My daughter is teaching me to enjoy it. When the game is not on, the large tv screen is alive with an intense crackling fireplace fire. Periodically, I remind myself my house is not on fire.
I nap in my bedroom rather than on the living room couch. During a few minutes of sunshine, I sit outside doing my chair exercise. The young poet joins me to watch the tall pine trees and the squirrels. I wear my new pine green puffer jacket and my hard to kill baseball hat.
I start and stop reading two different books. Time to go back to the stack of waiting books.
In the early evening, we watch IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE reminding ourselves it is really Christmas Day. There is nothing new to say about this classic old film. My daughter falls asleep on the couch and I stay awake.
