I learn a doctor’s description of a procedure focuses on his experience in doing the procedure.  Is the protocol difficult for him or easy. I have to ask specifically what the patient’s experience would be.  Easy procedures for doctors can be very painful and difficult for me, the patient. Frequently, the doctor doesn’t know. I am slowly learning what to ask.

My two artists friends visit before their vacation in France.  We pretend to speak French. One friend notices the dry front garden and proceeds to do a thorough watering.  The other sees that I am starved for company. We talk for hours.

I sit in the afternoon on the front porch after my nap. I bring juice and read the current New yorker. My cane slides off the front porch and I can’t reach it. The visiting friend retrieves it for me. Scary to b so helpless.

Watched the third episode of MORNING SHOW on apple+ tv.  Such a great show. Finished reading CANCERLAND and am beginning to understand how cancer and the treatments work or do not work.
