Through the railings of the second story deck, I see into the neighbor’s patio.  A whirligig moves with the slight breeze, multi colored. I sit in the shade on the deck reading a new book. In the far distance is Mount Toro and closer is the airport and some unfamiliar buildings. This view opened up after the high school  pine trees were cut down.

Now I am preparing all my meals for the first time in several years. I am trying to remember what I used to cook. Breakfast and lunch are easy, dinner is a challenge. Last night I fried corn tortillas with cheese and onions.

In the morning I start to read CODE OF THE HILLS, a mystery story by Chris Offutt. The story is set in the hill country of Kentucky.  I read all day and finished it in the evening. A satisfying read.

On TV I watch more of season two of LINCOLN LAWYER. I am beginning to like the story and the characters.
