This morning I get up in the cold house and walk around turning off lights and putting things away.  Most of the family is still asleep.  The east coast daughter is watching more tennis on the living room TV. I take my breakfast tray to my room.  I do best when I can stay with familiar habit patterns.

Outside on the deck I hear the calls of unseen seagulls. Last night I heard the bugle call from the military base at the presidio. A great silence settles over the house.

I am watching the last episode of ENDEAVOR on the television.  I am sorry to let these character disappear from my imaginary life.

A good friend’s birthday party extravaganza is today. Outdoors, chickens, people, fruit trees, music, delicious food, old cars, ping pong. Sadly, I am not well enough to attend.
