The sun comes out for a few hours late in the afternoon. The fog retreats.  I walk at San Carlos Beach Park. All my walks are slow as I use my cane to avoid falling.  I want to be stronger but not injured. The sloping lawn is now dry and brittle. Groups of teenagers, bike through the area.

The former teenager is staying for the summer. My job is to clear out kitchen shelves for her use.  Too much of my unnoticed stuff everyplace. It is a treat to have such a charming young woman in the house.

My personal librarian is back from her east coast trip. More books and conversations are coming.

I am so bored with TV.  Even the news.  I don’t care about the debt ceiling threat.  There is nothing I can do about this threat. And yet, a spark of interest arises unexpectedly. After all, I did take a lot of PoliSci classes in college at UC Berkeley 60 years ago. The war in Ukraine is scary and compelling.
