The flowering plants in the front yard grow from cuttings I took from friendly plants in public places. My yard is full of large deer resistant bushes. The presence of hungry deer determine which plants will survive. For many years I would snap small branches from attractive plants and attempt to grow them on my deck.

At age 82 I wonder what my expected life span is. This information would help me decide which treatments I am willing to take on.

Today I am only eating protein food as I prepare for tomorrow’s PET SCAN. Before the scan, the nurse injects radioactive sugar into my blood stream to identify hidden cancers. This is my third Pet Scan in two years. I am in awe at what scientists can develop.

Starting to read THE PROFESSOR’S HOUSE by Willa Cather.  I am excited to find a book by Cather that I hadn’t yet read.
