The nightly news journalists couldn’t stop smiling and laughing this week as they reported the firing of scary news host. Usually, they are intense, angry, and sad but this week it was relief and happy times. Democracy wins a small battle.

A new fence is up between my yard and the neighbor’s driveway. The carpenter works for days with his pneumatic hammer and his whirling saw. And I have learned that the young woman neighbor is a treat.

My charming daughter returns the cot to REI. It is too low to the ground for me to use as an outside daybed. I haven’t given up.  Now I am looking to buy a used outdoor water proof couch for outside naps.

I am reading again the 2012 book, THE END OF YOUR LIFE BOOK CLUB by Will Schwalbe. A memoir of the time the author spent with his mother while she was dying. They read books and talked to each other. This time I am focused on the mother’s experience.
