Bladder cancer is a common disease, but not talked about.  Effects mostly men.  In the urology waiting room I sit with a lot of elderly men.   75 more people will be diagnosed with bladder cancer this year in Monterey County alone.  I am part of a growing tribe. Many of the tribe will die.

Slept in late this morning.  The sun is out and the day has started and I am still lying under my warm comforter making a plan for today’s activities.

Found a memoir about a man’s diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer.  I spent Saturday reading it from start to finish. BACK TO LIFE, a bladder cancer journey by Frank Sadowski. I can’t stop trying to understand what is happening.

 In Saturday’s New York Times is an article about BCG, the TB vaccine as a miracle drug for many diseases. I start again the 6 week BCG bladder treatment this Wednesday. The treatment failed the first time for me but we are trying again.
