A small box of See’s candy with five pieces uneaten. I eat one and then the next until all five are gone and I am now tired, ready for an early nap. Huge Godiva box still waiting to be eaten.
As an old person I get to decide when to take a shower. I don’t much like showers any more. Tonight, I have the last shower of 2022. What a relief.
The tall man and the journalist bring me chili rellenos and guacamole for dinner. I stay home and they go out to celebrate. Wrapped packages wait for me in the living room. Not sure I deserve gifts. I didn’t get gifts for anyone this year. Maybe in February I will surprise them with gifts.
House is quiet this Christmas morning. The former teenager is still in bed. Others are in their homes. Heater is blowing warm expensive air through the house. All is well. I am slowly reaching the two week mark of recovery from the latest surgery.
