Sunday late afternoon, I sit by the bears on Colton Hall
lawn. Few people around. Several dragon flies sweep by. Two new trees have been planted. A young woman
is chasing her quick twin toddlers. Some wear masks some don’t.
I think of the passing days as either vivid or dull. Sometimes
both. Today is garbage day, always a
vivid day. There is joy in getting rid of trash and garbage.
I am committed to reading all ten Swedish books about the
detective Martin Beck. I first read then
in the 60’s. They are still fresh and interesting. I love that there are no computers or google
or cell phones in their lives. A lot of time is spent looking for a telephone
booth. I am on book 2.
I feel that the virus is getting closer to me. It is invisible and yet I follow the daily
numbers on line as if they are a warning to me personally.
