Crowds of crows flew across the sky at dust last night. Erratic paths in the wind and rain. I didn’t loose electricity but my kids did
and they came to my house to get warm and to charge their IPhones. Now I know
the secret to getting them to visit. Puddles in the parking area, yellow acacia
trees blowing in the wind. Everything is alive.
My older neighbors walk up and back on the street between the bursts of
rain. I am inside looking out.
TELL ME HOW IT ENDS, an essay in forty questions by Valerie
Luiselli is one of my favorite books. Luiselli
has a new book coming out and it is being reviewed in this week’s New Yorker by
James Wood. I have added my name to the library reserve list.
