The backyard apricot tree has a few blossoms sprouting from the reddish limbs. The grass continues to grow in the rain. The inedible quince is coming.

Frost on the neighbors’ roofs, the yellow oxalis flowers pop out in the early morning light. Ice on my windshield as I drive to McGowan house for early meditation.

In the warm afternoon sun my solar powered light is recharging.  A pillar of gnats rise from the wet grass. Small birds hop in the wet garden.

I am preparing for the next outage.  My son set up wood in the fireplace that I can just light with a match.

I saw two cars today with some part of the car body  held together with duck tape. I will start carrying duck tape in my car.

Even with the bright moon light on my deck tonight I can see stars sparkling in the cold sky.
