Last month I read several interviews with poets in SPARKS FROM THE ANVIL, the Smith collection of poetry interviews by Christian McEwen.  The interviews were so compelling that I started acquiring books by the poets.  Maxine Kumin was the first interview I read. I am reading the interviews slowly.

This morning I pulled out the coffee and tea thermoses for the first Plein Air writing class of the season.  Usually we write and read outside but today it is cold and cloudy and expected to rain.  We are meeting inside McGowan House.  I have led this class many times but I am still nervous about the first class.

Garbage day.  Have I taken out all the garbage?  I hear a truck outside my window stopped with the engine running.  Must be workers for the construction next door.

I finished DEEP CREEK, FINDING HOPE IN THE HIGH COUNTRY by Pam Houston. Non fiction essays about her life now.  The kind of book I always enjoy as I try to figure out how other people live.
