As I pass through the house at dawn this morning, I notice the top of the Godiva chocolate box is uncovered. It takes e a minute to realize the rodent is back in the house and ate twenty of the chocolates from the box.  No mess, just empty little paper cups in the box.  The cheese baited mouse trap in the kitchen is untouched.

The good news is that I stumbled on a great book to read.  Among the five books I picked up at the library this week was SALVATION CITY by Sigrid Nunez, a novel from 2010.  I have started finding her earlier books at the library, not sure I would like them as much as the later ones. She is a master of novel writing and I smile in pleasure when I sit down to read more of the book.
