The fire continues. Such a slow disaster. Big Sur community has now been evacuated and a shelter set up at Carmel Middle school. And the day is sunny and warm.

I am distracting myself with a new book, NOTES ON A LIFE Essays by Eleanor Coppola. What is wonderful about this book is her reflections on the struggle she has as woman in defining her life within her responsibilities as a wife and mother. I find great comfort in how she is thinking about life.
