drove to Santa Cruz late in the afternoon. At the Moss landing, there were many, many pelican in a feed frenzy in the harbor. Flying, diving, splashing, dodging, playing. The air was filled with these wonderful birds. I was torn between driving safely in this rush hour traffic and watching the bird activity. I drove safely.

Has dinner on main street Santa Cruz. Hundreds of people downtown, music, dancing, conversations, movement. So different then Monterey. We are a military town and Santa Cruz is a student and beach town.
