These bears are statues on the front lawn of Colton Hall in Monterey.

Took a walk this afternoon. The afternoon breeze has clear the air and the blue sky is showing. In the distance I can see Mount Toro shrouded in smoke.

Many kids jumping small waves at the beach, people walking around, pushing strollers, eating ice cream.

The wharf was cluttered with bits of black rope. The fishermen have been repairing their nets.

The fire situation is still dire but for us the air is better. No more ash is falling this afternoon.
