I went to the 5pm movie, Magic at Midnight, the latest Woody Allen movie.  Of course I like all of his movies and I liked this one even though deep in my heart I think it was a bit overdone.

A hot day today.  still warm after sunset. Neighborhood is planning a Labor Day party. I am sitting in my room waiting to cool off.

I have several free hours this morning to work on my writing.  I am not sure if I remember how to write.

Spent the afternoon with my 12 year old grand daughter. She wants to write a mystery story so we talked about why people kill each other.  Sort of sad actually even thought I love reading mystery stories.

I have known about global warming in my brain but this week in the warmth of Monterey I am beginning to feel it in my body.  It is too hot.

I am reading MEN EXPLAIN THINGS TO ME by Rebecca Solnit, one of my very favorite authors.  A collection of essays.  I love it.

The winds are upon us.  I didn't wake up for the earthquake.  It was 150 miles away.  But I am right here with the winds.
