Lots of food shows up for Thanksgiving Day. The fireman brings the packaged community dinner from the fairgrounds. The tall man arrives with left over chocolate birthday cake and Meals on wheels brings extra turkey on Wednesday.

I have been thinking about the power of words. I stop calling myself sick but rather I am damaged from illnesses and treatments. This means I can do whatever I want. So I drive us to Lovers Point Park to walk and bench sit. I watch the ocean life and listen to the many families speaking languages I can’t identify. The sun is warm, the shade is cold.

We eat our dinner with a fire in the fireplace and watch the last episodes of THE MAN INSIDE. And finally, we laugh loudly watching an episode of PORTLANDIA.

I am committed to reading THE HALLMARKED MAN, Only 600 pages to go. I get confused by the number of suspects and characters in the book. I find Cormoran Strike a compelling detective. It is a struggle to continue.  I am healthy (but damaged} and I can do it.
