Early morning, the guests are still asleep.  I get up and turn on the heater.  We struggle witht he heater.  I don't like it on at night and they say they are cold.  I get them another blanket.  We will see what they say this morning.

Getting ready for the cold night.  More blankets on the bed.  Heater on until bedtime.  All will be well.

Wednesday, December 24, 2014

The house is quiet, everyone is out but me. Now time for a nap.  All is well.

Saturday, December 20, 2014

Some days are so dreary that I just don't want to go outside.  It is a long day looking out the window wondering when the sun will come out.

Friday, December 19, 2014

Now I am settled in for the evening and am reading Lindsay and Hendricks new book  THE FOURTH RULE OF TEN.  An interesting mystery novel.

OK, my downstairs rooms are flooding.  Scott has been moving mattresses and rugs from the effected rooms.  sigh

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

I soaked up the warmth of the sun this morning.  Now the pineapple express is back and the rain is ready to start up again.  Still I can't complain, the drought is almost over.

Sunday, December 14, 2014

In stead of going to the beach today to see the waves I took a long nap.  Tomorrow I will go to the beach and see the storm waves.

Friday, December 12, 2014

Still light rain but soon we will have that magical time after the rain, fresh, clear, vibrant air.

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

The storm is coming, the storm is coming.  Are you prepared.  I don't know how to prepare.  I have a warm house, food and water.  Maybe I need to get more gas for my car.  I am not sure I believe the storm predictions.

Unexpected balmy day.  In the afternoon I wanted to take a nap, my eyes grew heavy and I had a hard time staying awake.  I made myself a cup of tea and I woke up.  What a surprise.

Sunday, December 7, 2014

A good day for staying at home and reading a new book.  Hermione Lee's new biography of Penelope Fitzgerald.

Saturday, December 6, 2014

Saturday morning, just getting light. I can see from my window birds hoping around on my bottle bush tree. I have started reading the NYT a day late in the morning.  Doesn't seem to matter when I read the news.  I am less hurried and I can find the more interesting articles when I have my coffee and watch the birds.  There is an article I just read that says that older people are happier then middle aged people or even younger people.  I think that is true.  And according to the study the happiest time of our lives is in our 80's.  We will see.

Quiet afternoon, reading with my grand daughter.  We each are reading our own books. Now I close the curtains on the dark night.

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

I am now reading Aleksandar Hemon's book THE LAZARUS PROJECT.  The last couple of books I started I put down but this book has captured my imagination.

Tuesday, December 2, 2014

It is raining and cold this Tuesday morning.  I have made the pot of coffee and tea and I am getting ready to go to Hopkins Marine station for our monthly Plein Air writing.  I think I would rather stay home out of the rain.
